Dear UA Parents,
I hope you are enjoying the start of the first long weekend of 2021. It is going to be a cold one so make sure you bundle up. There is lots to celebrate this weekend including Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, and Family Day. I hope all of our UA families have a wonderful weekend celebrating with those in their household. Thank you again for being so diligent in your efforts to keep yourselves healthy which then keeps our UA community healthy and able to continue to operate as we have been.
Congratulations to all of the students for their commitment to the UA Read-a-Thon. From what I have been told, they blew through the anticipated expectations. I think I am as excited as the students to find out who will win the prizes when the winners are announced next week. In the meantime, keep on reading because it is fun!
I would like you all to note that there is a new calendar attached to the Weekly Update. If you have a printed copy please replace it with the one attached as there have been some changes. For the most current calendar, you can always refer to the UA website. Of note is a change to the March Parent-Teacher Conferences. These will now be in April for the Grade 7-12 students, and Student-Led Conferences for JK-Grade 6 students will also be in April. More information will be sent out closer to the date. There are also a number of events listed now as “tbc” – like most things this year, we are re-imagining these activities to keep everyone safe and further details will be coming to you shortly.
If you have been by the school this week you will have noticed the hoarding has been installed on the sidewalk on the east side of the gym between our school building and 100 Braid Street. Once again, this is in place to protect pedestrians as the construction begins on our fifth floor and at 100 Braid Street.
