‘My teachers’ as outlined by one of UA’s Senior students:
Teachers at Urban Academy always have one important thing in common, they care. That is one of many things that make them amazing.
They create a dynamic and welcoming environment that makes us feel at home. They ask us about our weekend, how our day is going, and actually want to know the answers. They also ask us how we are feeling and they motivate us to do better in everything that we do. We are always treated like the young adults we are becoming, this makes us proud and excited to be growing up and to be treated with such respect.
They manage to incorporate a fun element into every project or lesson we learn. My teachers also make sure I fully understand what is required before every test or exam. I really enjoy the way I can ask questions about what I am working on, and my teacher takes the time to discuss it with me in class or even on their break time and ensures that I get answers to my questions that I understand.
They take time out of their lives to help me do well in all my subjects, and I know I always have the Urban Academy team on my side.
