Dear Urban Academy Families,

Spring Break is here and it is a welcome rest for everyone. We intend to get a lot of work accomplished on the site in the next two weeks while regular classes are not in session. Thank you for your work with us over the move and transitioning to our new space. The students have done exceptionally well and I would like to thank and acknowledge my staff who have been most flexible and diligent to ensure that students adjusted to their new school. We are all doing well and enjoying being together as a whole school.

Please remember your child will require indoor, non-marking gym shoes for PE after the break.

We have our second Parent Education Evening coming up on April 10. Dr. Sharon Arnold, a respected local psychologist, will speak on Childhood Anxiety. Please mark your calendars to join us and we will get a formal invitation for responses out right after the break.

Report cards are right around the corner after Spring Break. We have Student-Led Conferences for K-Grade 4 (a great new opportunity for our Grade 4 students!) and parent- teacher conferences for Grades 5-12. We will put out the sign-up process after the break so that families can plan for their time to come in to conference.

After the break we get into the spring and final term activities; Mothers’ Day Tea, the Spring Plays, camps and Fathers’ Day Breakfast just to name a few events. This is always an exciting time of year for community events and it will be enjoyable to plan them in our new school as we adjust to all being together and having new space.

Thank you to families who have their tuition and full re-registration back in already. Remember it is due April 1 and April 1 is our first day back. The office is closed the first week and Ms. Courtney Pay is in the second week of Spring Break starting March 25 for families who need to come to complete that process.

Thank you again for your support and encouragement as we complete on a most complex but wonderful building project for our students. Have an enjoyable break with your families and we look forward to welcoming you back April 1.

Enjoy the break.
