Dear Urban Academy Families,

Thank you for your work with us on the orientation sessions this week. Yet again, the weather intervened and so the final session will be held on Monday. The information packages provided will also go out electronically on Monday. I know that most families have their passes now – there will be no entry to the site without one, so please ensure that you have taken care of a drop-off pass for Grades 1-12 or the parking pass for JK/K/OOSC. The parking passes are for 10 minutes drop-off spots. If you need to park for more than 10 minutes, you will need to find public parking spots in the community on a side street and you will see those streets when you and your child come together for your visit on March 4. There is a significant uptake on tech in our new school for all aspects of how we handle the building and it will take time to implement all of it but the established principles of how we keep students safe are no different for entry, transitions and playing safely in the space.

Please remember the grade group meetings on March 4 are for you and your child together. This is your chance to tour the school. We will not be touring families in the opening days as the focus will be on the students.

Please look on your teacher’s blog for the information about gym shoes that you need to have in place by the time we come back from Spring Break as well as in the package of information that went home from the orientations. We want every student to enjoy the gym. On our last days at the old sites, you will have been apprised of the field study planned for the last days at both Robson and Uptown so please plan accordingly. Thank you for your work with us as we transition. We will need a little patience and forbearance as we move together into a very different space. Same UA, same values and expectations just a new place to learn and grow!

Have a lovely weekend.
