Head of School’s Weekly Message
March 13, 2020
Dear Urban Academy Families,
Thank you for a wonderful winter term! It is lovely to see the spring weather and the longer evenings. When we return from the break we are into the activities that really herald the final term. Thank you for your vigilance and care regarding the safety of our students, staff and school community reducing the spread of flu germs. Your attention to stringent cleanliness for the children and the health advisories for travel is appreciated. I communicated directly with you on this topic earlier today. Please go through that direction carefully.
Our administrative office is closed for the next week. We have Out of School Care operating full time and work going on in the building but contact with the public is limited. We are asking our staff and families (other than OOSC) to not stop into the site as we undertake a thorough clean with the opportunity to address surfaces normally touched by guests, staff and students. On Monday, March 23 our admin office is back open for business and many of our new and returning families will want to be in with their registration and tuition payments. Please feel welcome to stop by during that week.
When we return after the break we will start to make the plans for camp, finalize Spring Play plans as well as the other year end events dependent upon further direction from Health Authorities. We will also be sharing plans for our Senior students’ co-curricular trips next year as well so that families can begin to plan. As our programs mature, the opportunities for students continue to grow as well.
Have a safe and enjoyable Spring Break with your family. We look forward to a busy and learning-filled last term.
Mrs. Cheryle Beaumont
