Head of School’s Weekly Message
June 23, 2017
Dear Urban Academy Families,
Thank you for a wonderful school year! We very much enjoyed sharing Report Card ceremonies with you and saying good-bye and Happy Summer to our students. They have worked hard and have solid results to show for it.
Thank you to all of the families who came in last weekend to meet with InSchool Wear to order new uniform. We will work on a couple of clarifying points to provide you specific direction on questions that arose and I will send that information out to you early next week so that you have it before June 30. I think though, that families are well able to get started with the new pieces required.
We will send very brief Friday emails on June 30 and again on July 7 with any outstanding reminders or updates and then that will be it until Tuesday, August 22. Please mark your calendars for our Back to School Barbeque on August 30 at Robson. We will send details about that in our first email back.
Thank you to all of our families for a full and productive year. I want to recognize the work of my staff who go above and beyond their formal responsibilities every day, ensuring an excellent education for your children and amazing pastoral care of them as well. They have put in a very full year and our staff is growing and maturing professionally alongside the development of our school. I know that many of you have recognized and thanked them for their work with your children and those words are appreciated.
We are moving on the work at our new site and will be well underway by the time we all return in September. It is an exciting time for our school. I wish to express my gratitude to our Board of Directors for their unwavering guidance and direction for the school and the organization. They work extremely well together and are firmly focused on the future of the school. Thank you to each of you for your support and our work together. It is a pleasure to serve this community. On behalf of my staff and myself, have an enjoyable time this summer with your children.
